Andrew Lehman is returning to Akin as a partner in its private equity practice, the firm announced today in a news release.
Lehman, who advises PE and infrastructure funds in M&A deals, JVs, structured equity transactions rejoins Akin from McDermott Will & Emery.
The firm said in the release that Lehman “further strengthens the firm’s energy sector experience in Houston.”
“There is outstanding momentum at Akin and I’m thrilled to return to the firm. Akin’s collaborative culture and its top tier platform for private equity investors is a terrific fit for my clients and practice. I am excited to rejoin my colleagues,” said Lehman in the release.
Lehman is the latest hire for Akin’s Houston office, which hired energy transactions partner Ian Goldberg last month.
“We’re delighted to welcome Andy back to the firm,” said Akin chairperson Kim Koopersmith in the release. “As we continue to grow our private equity practice, we are particularly fortunate to have someone we know is a terrific colleague and highly respected as a skilled lawyer return to us. This is an exciting opportunity to help our clients navigate transactional opportunities across a variety of sectors.”
Lehman, who graduates from the University of Texas School of Law in 2005, advises and represents clients in a mixture of industries, including energy, IT, healthcare, manufacturing and more.
“Andy is a talented dealmaker and is an excellent addition to our private equity team,” said corporate practice co-head Zachary Wittenberg in the release. “His experience representing investors in complex transactions including cutting-edge energy investments will be a great asset to our clients.”
