McGinnis Lochridge announced Monday that it has added Austin-based litigator Marla Broaddus as a partner to its oil and gas practice group.
Broaddus joined the firm after spending over eight years at Enoch Kever, where she primarily focused on oil and gas litigation and appeals.
“Marla is a fantastic addition to the practice group. Her extensive experience in complex oil and gas litigation matters will be extremely valuable to our clients and firm,” Jonathan Baughman, the partner-in-charge of McGinnis Lochridge’s Houston office and chair of its oil and gas practice group, said in a recent release.
Outside of oil and gas litigation, Broaddus will also bring additional experience advising clients on several other matters, including disputes involving easements, titles, breach of contract, business torts and class-action suits.
Broaddus earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1994 and her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 1997.
To begin her career, she worked as a litigator at Kelly Hart & Hallman, focusing primarily on business and employment litigation.
Following her stint there, she worked as an original proceedings staff attorney for the Supreme Court of Texas and also served as a staff attorney for former Justice James A. Baker for three years.
Before eventually joining Enoch Kever in 2017, Broaddus also worked as an attorney at the Ratliff Law Firm for over 13 years, specializing in business litigation and appeals within the energy sector.
