A Houston appellate lawyer who spent more than two decades practicing at Troutman Pepper Locke and Locke Lord has joined Beck Redden’s appellate group as of counsel.
Beck Redden announced this week the hiring of Chris Dove, who focuses on commercial litigation in the energy, financial services and maritime sectors. The chair of the firm’s appellate practice, Russell S. Post, said in a news release the firm was “very pleased” to add Dove to its ranks.
“Our group and its clients will benefit from his substantial experience handling complex appellate matters in Texas and across the country for more than 20 years,” he said. “Chris is a well-respected member of the appellate community, a trusted former co-counsel, and a friend to many at the firm. We look forward to the insight and experience he brings to both our appellate and litigation practices.”
Dove has argued more than 40 appeals in state and federal courts across the country and has often partnered with trial teams early to help preserve error and ensure cases are strategically positioned for appellate review, Beck Redden said in the release.
“I have long admired Beck Redden’s culture of excellence and its record of handling consequential appeals,” Dove said in a statement. “Joining a team that shares my commitment to thoughtful, strategic advocacy is a perfect fit, and I look forward to contributing to the firm’s tradition of securing outstanding results for clients.”
Dove received his bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the University of Florida in 1993, a master’s degree in fine arts from the University of Texas at Austin in 1996 and his law degree from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law in 2001.
After law school, he clerked for Judge Will Garwood on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
