Carrington Coleman has hired three veteran corporate and M&A lawyers, Brandon Hurwitz, David Campbell and Val Cronin, from the Dallas office of Underwood Perkins. Joining them at Carrington is associate Christopher Pride, who has worked alongside Hurwitz, Campbell and Cronin since 2024.
“A hallmark of Carrington Coleman’s transactional practice has always been the rangy expertise of its lawyers,” said Monica Latin, managing partner of Carrington Coleman. “They aren’t pigeon-holed into narrow transactional niches, something we believe serves our clients especially well. This group of longtime colleagues reflects that beautifully. They bring wide ranging interests and experience, with the type of depth and quality that is always the critical foundation.”

Hurwitz is joining as partner, bringing expertise in transactional practice, focusing on business, corporate, and real estate clients. He led representation of IB Roof Systems, LLC in a sale to Kingspan Group, a publicly traded business headquartered in Ireland. He served as a director and CEO of Underwood Perkins.
“We are excited to join a firm that has been a respected fixture in the Dallas legal community for many decades,” said Hurwitz. “We were personally familiar with a number of lawyers practicing at Carrington Coleman and, without exception, thought very highly of them. Moreover, our initial discussions on this joinder further confirmed that Carrington’s outstanding legal reputation is well-warranted and that its culture aligns uniquely with our values.”

Campbell and Cronin join as senior counsel. Campbell focuses on bankruptcy, creditor rights, and real estate title litigation. He regularly represents Northwestern Mutual and Bank of America in connection with commercial real estate lending in Texas. Cronin brings expertise in corporate, asset protection and estate planning. He advises on tax matters related to private family businesses, succession planning, and asset protection matters.
“Underwood Perkins has for decades shared a dedication to the unique benefits of practicing law in an excellent mid-sized firm — both for the lawyers who make it their career home and the clients who enjoy the top-notch personal attention, collaboration, and camaraderie we offer,” said Latin. “While never grow for the sake of growth, we are always excited and gratified to join forces with like-minded lawyers who walk the cultural talk.”

Hurwitz said he and his team have seen an increase in transactional activity over the past year.
“We feel well situated to assist new clients that are among the many businesses moving to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex from around the country and the world,” he said. “We expect both of these trends to continue into 2026.”
