Cozen O’Connor Hires of Former Judge and Veteran Houston Litigator

April 7, 2025 Jeff Schnick

Cozen O’Connor has hired veteran litigator and former Texas state district court judge Jeff K. Work as a member in its global insurance department in its Houston office, according to a news release.

He brings nearly four decades of corporate-level civil and commercial litigation experience to the firm, including product liability cases. Work’s courtroom experience in Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas enhances Cozen O’Connor’s ability to address complex insurance-related business disputes in one of the world’s largest insurance markets.

“Texas is not only one of the nation’s largest insurance markets, but one of the largest in the world. Unfortunately, insurance-related business disputes are a fact of life and adding a Texas-based litigator with a background as strong as Jeff’s is a major win for our department,” said Joseph A. Ziemianski, co-chair of Cozen O’Connor’s global insurance department, in the release. “Our clients continue to face a range of difficult insurance challenges, from climate-related coverage disputes to ever-changing regulatory requirements, and Jeff’s level of courtroom experience is in great demand. I’m thrilled to welcome him to the firm.”

Work previously served as senior trial counsel at Germer PLLC before joining Cozen O’Connor.

AREAS OF FOCUS
He specializes in corporate-level civil and commercial litigation, including mass torts, employment matters, insurance coverage issues, products liability, construction disputes and oil & gas litigation, according to the release.
