Craig M. Warner, formerly a partner at Bell Nunnally & Martin, has joined Duane Morris’ Dallas office, the firm announced Wednesday.
Warner joins as a partner in the firm’s trial practice group. The Dallas office opened three years ago and has been growing steadily, said Randy D. Gordon, managing partner of the Dallas office. Warner said his prior firm was “fantastic” and that leaving was “bittersweet.”
“My commercial litigation clients have geographically diverse matters and particularized questions that will benefit from Duane Morris’ national footprint and diverse practice; and I am eager to add the insights of Duane Morris’ deep bench of white-collar and regulatory enforcement counsel to my own U.S. Navy and Department of Justice background for my clients responding to government inquiries,” he said.
Warner, a former assistant U.S. attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice, advises middle-market companies and Fortune 500 corporations on managing active and potential litigation and investigations, Duane Morris said.
Bass Pro Shops, Miller Brewing, and Primerica are among the companies Warner has represented, according to his LinkedIn. Warner, also a former assistant attorney general for the Texas Attorney General’s office, has represented state agencies including the Texas Department of Insurance and the Texas Department of State Health Services, his LinkedIn says.
“His experience in both government and private practice gives him a unique skill set that translates well onto the Duane Morris platform,” Duane Morris Chairman and CEO Matthew A. Taylor said.
The firm’s hire comes amid “an environment of increased investigations and rising litigation,” said Sharon L. Caffrey, co-chair of Duane Morris’ trial practice group.
Warner is licensed and admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Texas and North Carolina.
Warner graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2004. He was a Naval officer and judge advocate from 2004 to 2009.
