Husch Blackwell has expanded its real estate, development and construction industry team, the firm announced in a news release, by hiring veteran partner Steven Katkov.
With nearly three decades of real estate advisory expertise, Katkov has experience serving clients across the United States, strengthening the firm’s presence in its growth markets.
“Steve is a tremendously skilled attorney, and the national reach of his experience provides a compelling offering for many of our clients,” said Jon Giokas, head of Husch Blackwell’s real estate, development and construction industry group, in the release. “In particular, the Dallas and Minneapolis markets are two that are of significant importance to our Real Estate industry growth strategy. We’re thrilled Steve has joined the firm.”
Previously with Cozen O’Connor for nearly a decade, Katkov will split his time between the firm’s Dallas and Minneapolis offices. Earlier in his career, he managed various corporate transactions and held leadership positions in large companies, including First American and T-Mobile.
“The incredible national reputation of Husch Blackwell’s real estate practice was a key factor in my decision to join the firm,” said Katkov in the release. “My clients will greatly benefit from the firm’s deep bench, and I look forward to working with my new colleagues to deliver exceptional results.”
AREAS OF FOCUS
Katkov specializes in commercial real estate transactions, including financings, acquisitions, dispositions, leases and regulatory approvals, with notable experience representing clients in the cannabis industry and handling complex restructurings and workouts.
