Jackson Walker Hires Labor & Employment Lawyers from Chamberlain Hrdlicka

April 3, 2025 Michelle Casady

This week, Jackson Walker bolstered its labor and employment practice in Houston with the addition of two lawyers from Chamberlain Hrdlicka.

Diana Pérez Gomez joins the firm as a partner and Leslie Tan joins as senior counsel.

Jay Rutherford, chair of the firm’s labor and employment practice group, issued a statement that he and his colleagues are “thrilled” to welcome the duo to the firm.

“Their exceptional skills and deep knowledge will be invaluable to our clients,” he said. “Their addition highlights Jackson Walker’s commitment to our continued growth as a recognized leader in labor and employment law.”

Pérez Gomez, a trial lawyer, had been a shareholder at Chamberlain since February 2018. She focuses her practice on all sorts of complex employment disputes, including those involving noncompete agreements, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, and claims of discrimination and retaliation. She has also advised clients through internal investigations, employment agreement negotiations and drafting training and policy guidelines.

In addition to her work in the courtroom, Pérez Gomez has served as the president of the Houston Bar Association, has been honored by Texas A&M University’s Bush School of Government and Public Service as a 2024 Outstanding Alumni and was named Trailblazer of the Year by the Hispanic Bar Association of Houston. She is on the board of directors for the State Bar of Texas and serves on its Access to Justice Commission as well.

Pérez Gomez graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in political science in 2000 and is a 2003 graduate of the University of Texas School of Law.

Tan received a bachelor’s degree in English and psychology from Rice University in 2001 and is a 2004 graduate of the University of Texas School of Law. She focuses her practice on representing employers in administrative proceedings and alternative dispute resolution processes. She also has an expertise in insurance defense litigation.

Prior to their time at Chamberlain, both lawyers were at Martin, Disiere, Jefferson & Wisdom for about 12 years.
