Auction of Judge Barbara Lynn’s Memorabilia to Benefit Dallas Women Lawyers Foundation

The Dallas Women Lawyers Association Foundation has opened an online auction featuring personal items, memorabilia, and artwork from the chambers and career of Senior U.S. District Judge Barbara Lynn.

Proceeds from the auction will support DWLAF’s grant-making efforts for female attorneys, law students, and women and children in need across North Texas. The virtual auction runs through 5 p.m. on Aug. 22. A closing reception will be held that day from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Earle Cabell Federal Courthouse in Dallas. Judge Lynn is expected to attend the event and will be available to sign items for winning bidders.

The auction catalog and bidding platform are available at this link.

Volunteers on the auction are:

  • U.S. Magistrate Judge Rebecca Rutherford, clerk Stacy Stevens and interns Domonique Gray, Rachel Fisher and Caroline Tichenor
  • Catherine Balido, Alexis King and Manuel Berrelez of Paul Hastings
  • Stephanie Culpepper
  • Kris Ikejiri

This summer, the DWLAF announced five recipients of its newest grant, called the Outreach Grant. The organization now fundraises for and awards three distinct grants: the Outreach Grant, the Get Started Grant and the Karen D. McCloud Memorial Grant, named in honor of a past president of the Dallas Women Lawyers Association, who died in 2020.

DWLAF introduced the Outreach Grant last year to support local organizations working on advocacy, education, empowerment and access to justice. In its second year, the Outreach Grant was awarded to New Friends New Life, Hagar’s Heart, Young Women’s Preparatory Network, Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support and Human Rights Initiative of North Texas.

The Outreach Grant was created to “broaden our mission to women and children and their families” within the greater Dallas community, DWLAF President Stephanie Culpepper said.
