Skadden has added energy litigator Michelle Scheffler to its ranks.
Scheffler joined the firm’s Houston office as a litigation partner. She came to the firm from Haynes Boone, where she was a co-chair of its oil and gas practice group.
“Michelle’s deep knowledge of the energy sector and reputation as a ‘go-to’ trial lawyer make her an excellent addition to our Houston office and global litigation group,” said Noelle Reed, head of Skadden’s Houston office and its litigation team.
Scheffler has led high-profile energy disputes across the country. In 2021, she led a trial team in a closely watched case that secured a take-nothing judgment for her client against the North Dakota Department of Trust Lands over the department’s claim Scheffler’s client underpaid royalties owed to the state.
“Skadden’s robust and diverse work across the energy sector, along with its leading litigation group, attracted me to the firm,” Scheffler said in a news release. Scheffler was not available for an interview.
