Veteran Energy Attorney Dale Smith Joins Willkie’s Houston Office

January 19, 2024 Jeff Schnick

Willkie Farr & Gallagher has added energy finance and transactions attorney Dale Smith as a partner in its Houston office.

With over 25 years of experience in project development and finance law, Smith was most recently a partner at Mayer Brown. The seventh lateral partner to join Willkie’s energy team in the past year, Smith is the latest to join the firm’s recent Texas additions of Sarah McLean, Tony Johnston and Tan Lu, according to a news release.

“Dale’s addition further expands the energy transactional platform we’ve been building in Texas and across the country with our several partner additions this past year,” said Archie Fallon, managing partner of the Houston office, in the release.

“Willkie’s dynamic Texas platform and growing national and international energy capabilities are a great fit for my practice and I’m delighted to be a part of that growth,” said Smith, who graduated in 1998 from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.
