Womble Bond Dickinson has hired an experienced business litigator in its Houston office, the firm announced Tuesday in a news release.
Previously at Chamberlain Hrdlicka, R. Kyle Hawes will be a partner in Womble’s business litigation practice group. He has more than two and a half decades of experience as a trial and arbitration lawyer with more than 40 first-chair bench and jury trials under his belt, according to the release.
“Kyle’s litigation experience and leadership bring meaningful depth to our practice,” said Lisa Rushton, co-leader of Womble’s business litigation group, in the release. “He has a strong track record of guiding clients through complex disputes and supporting the development of legal talent — contributions that will benefit our clients and our firm.”
Joining Hawes at Womble from Chamberlain are Houston associates Ragan Robichaux and Vincent Bryan.
Karthika Perumal, Houston office managing partner, added: “Kyle has built a strong reputation here in Houston by delivering results for a wide range of clients, from individuals and small businesses to high-profile Fortune 500 corporations. Recently, he secured a unanimous jury verdict in the 270th Harris County District Court that defeated a $2.5 million claim by the Plaintiffs and awarded $350,000 in attorney’s fees to his client on a counterclaim. That kind of result speaks volumes about his litigation skills and dedication to client success.”
AREAS OF FOCUS
Hawes focuses on complex civil litigation, representing clients in matters involving breach of contract, real estate disputes, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, negligence, product liability, construction defects, consumer protection claims, Texas Securities Act and more across industries that include energy, real estate, construction, food and beverage, restaurant, retail, financial services, healthcare and technology.
