(March 11) – Bracewell & Giuliani recently named former Texas Supreme Court Justice Dale Wainwright as the managing partner of its Austin office, which he joined in 2012.
Wainwright, who served on the bench for 10 years after being appointed in 2002, said Austin has a “very exciting” business climate where lawyers want to live and clients want to expand.
“We’re looking to deepen the bench in our diverse practice areas to better serve our core clients’ regulatory, environmental and litigation needs, while also considering additional practices that complement the firm’s overall objectives and opportunities in the Austin market,” he said.
In particular, Wainwright said he and Bracewell Managing Partner Mark Evans are looking at expanding the office’s technology and energy practice groups in the near future.
The new Austin managing partner’s practice includes briefing and oral argument at trial and appellate courts, structures appeals and mandamus proceedings for success and counsels clients on litigation strategy, error preservation at trial, jury charge preparation, post-verdict proceedings and analysis of the trial record for appellate potential.
