(Oct. 11) – Norton Rose Fulbright announced today that Daryl Lansdale, Jr., the head of the firm’s U.S. business practice, will succeed Linda Addison as U.S. managing partner. He will serve a four-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2017.
Lansdale will also step in for Addison, who was the first woman U.S. managing partner at Norton Rose Fulbright, as the chair of the U.S. Management Committee. He will maintain his M&A and securities practice while serving in his new leadership positions.
“I am fortunate to have been asked and elected by the partners to serve as the U.S. managing partner,” said Lansdale, who practices in the Houston and San Antonio offices. “There is a ton of opportunity in the legal field in our markets and practices.”
Lansdale says the firm is “very focused” on building upon the “deep expertise” it has in the energy, healthcare and life science, technology and financial institution industry groups.
The SMU Dedman School of Law graduate will lead the day-to-day operations of the largest law firm in Texas. Of the firm’s 780 attorneys in the U.S., 459 are based in the state.
Lansdale says the combination with Norton Rose almost four years ago has “expanded the breadth of the U.S. practice” and improved the ability of its attorneys in Texas to deliver services to the firm’s global clients. The firm has 3,500 attorneys in more than 50 locations worldwide.
This year, the firm opened a San Francisco office and, most recently, acquired a Vancouver-based firm. Lansdale says Texas continues to be an “excellent” market for continued growth.
