David L. Burgert, formerly at Porter Hedges, has made the move to join Jones Day’s Houston office as a partner in its intellectual property practice.
Burgert, who has tried 50 cases to jury verdict as lead counsel, has represented both patent holders and accused infringers in high stakes and high technology lawsuits, as well as representing leading brands on issues of internet and trademark law. He also has experience with oil and gas matters.
“We’ve built a formidable practice group in our two offices in Texas, which is home to some of the most important IP courts in the country as well as the world’s leading innovators,” Anthony Insogna, co-chair of Jones Day’s IP practice said in a statement. “David’s arrival strengthens our Texas IP practice and will help us continue to grow.”
