Winston & Strawn announced Monday that Houston litigation partner J. Laurens Wilkes has joined the firm as the chair of its Infrastructure & Projects – Global Disputes practice.
Wilkes was previously at Jones Day, where he practiced for 16 years. His practice covers international arbitration and complex civil litigation in state and federal courts, with an emphasis on infrastructure, fiduciary duty, and products liability disputes.
The University of Texas School of Law graduate advises clients in the transportation, energy, construction, and financial industries. His infrastructure experience includes representing both contractors and owners/sponsors as well as lenders.
Over the last three years, Wilkes has represented Vogt Power International, Knoll Pharmaceutical, CITGO Petroleum, and Juno Therapeutics.
In the firm’s press release, Wilkes said the “synergy between my practice and the firm’s nationally recognized project finance work is a huge benefit.”
