New Orleans-based Phelps Dunbar opened its Dallas office this week with the addition of six attorneys from Fort Worth-based Cantey Hanger. The new office is the firm’s second location in Texas after Houston and 11th office overall.
The attorneys opening the office are C. Matthew Terrell, who will serve as the managing partner, Blake Bailey, D. Mark Daniel, Robert Doby III, Alan Duncan and Christopher Jones. Four professional staff members will also be joining them.
“Many of our current clients have a significant presence in the North Texas region, in particular the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex,” Michael Hunt, managing partner of Phelps Dunbar, said in a statement. This expansion will allow those clients to take advantage of a client service model that has fueled our firm’s growth throughout the Southeast. Phelps Dunbar is excited to be a part of this growing region.”
Terrell, Daniel, Bailey and Doby focus their practice on commercial litigation. Jones focuses his practice on eminent domain and property damage litigation as well as general corporate transactions. Duncan has a tax and transactional practice.
“Our new Dallas/Fort Worth team brings specialized skills that serve the development of public and private infrastructure,” Hunt said in the statement. “In addition, they provide capabilities in litigation, intellectual property, labor and employment, insurance, real estate and tax that complement our firm’s signature practices.”
