Bradley Arant Boult Cummings named Jeffrey M. Harvey partner in its corporate and securities practice group in Dallas.
Harvey spent more than 20 years as in-house or outside general counsel and will be leading a new general counsel services team at Bradley, the firm said in a news release this week. Harvey was vice president, general counsel and assistant secretary at Dallas-based Aerus LLC — formerly Electrolux Corp. — from 2001 to 2007. He then held similar posts at a telecommunications company in Salt Lake City through 2015 before returning to Dallas as the GC for Irving-based PrimeSource Building Products, according to LinkedIn. Harvey joined Holland & Knight in 2020 and was at Clark Hill PC for a few years prior to moving to Bradley this month.
“We are excited to bring Jeff’s significant corporate practice to Bradley,” Dallas Managing Partner John A. Bonnet III said. “As we continue to grow our corporate and transactional presence across Texas, we know that his deep experience will be a tremendous benefit to our business clients. We are proud that Bradley’s reputation and exceptional firm culture continue to attract some of the best legal talent in Dallas.”
Birmingham, Ala.-based Bradley Arant Boult Cummings has added 29 attorneys in Texas over the past year, including Viking W. Tao to the Dallas office in July as reported in The Lawbook. The firm said it now has 140 lawyers in Texas and its Dallas office has more than tripled in size since opening in 2019. Bradley has more than 700 lawyers overall in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Washington, D.C.
“Jeff will be leading our general counsel services team, which will integrate with our business and capital investment clients to provide comprehensive, cross-practice and multi-practice legal and compliance support to owners, executives and legal departments,” according to Michael A. Thomason Jr., chair of the corporate and securities practice. “We look forward to collaborating with Jeff and drawing on his extensive corporate and transactional practice, coupled with his almost two decades in-house as general counsel to multiple global businesses.”
