(December 2)—Eleven lawyers from Baker Botts’ Texas offices are among the firm’s 13 newly promoted partners.
Five of the new partners are in the firm’s Houston office. They are A.J. Ericksen, Chad McCormick, Brooke McNabb, Jason Newman and Anthony Speier.
Ericksen, a University of Texas School of Law graduate, focuses his practice on securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and general corporate matters.
McCormick focuses his practice on U.S. federal income taxation, particularly regarding domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions and separations.
McNabb, also a University of Texas School of Law graduate, focuses her practice on energy litigation.
Newman, a South Texas College of Law graduate, focuses his practice on energy litigation.
Speier focuses his practice on mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, including the sale of oil and gas properties, midstream assets, crude oil refineries and business units and subsidiaries of energy companies.
Ryan Bangert, Josh Mandell and Christa Brown-Sanford are in the firm’s Dallas office.
Bangert, a SMU Dedman School of Law graduate, focuses his practice on complex business litigation and appeals. He has represented a diverse range of clients in cases involving consumer fraud, breach of contract, intellectual property and general business torts.
Mandell focuses on federal income tax planning and controversy matters. He regularly counsels clients on a variety of transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, financings, debt and equity offerings and debt restructurings.
Brown-Sanford, also a SMU Dedman School of Law graduate, focuses her practice on patent procurement, patent litigation, and technology licensing.
Mollie Duckworth, Joseph Gray and Evan Young are in the firm’s Austin office.
Duckworth, a University of Texas School of Law graduate, focuses her practice on securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings and general corporate law.
Gray focuses his practice on patent litigation.
Young focuses his practice on trial and appellate litigation. He has argued cases before the United States Supreme Court and the Texas Supreme Court.
Baker Botts’ 2014 class of partners will be effective Jan. 1.
