‘Triage’ Mode: 15th COA Cancels Four Oral Arguments Set for December

The Fifteenth Court of Appeals is clearing its December calendar to brace for a total partisan turnover, canceling four high-profile oral arguments in the wake of Tuesday’s election results that saw all three of the court’s Republican justices ousted in favor of Democratic candidates.

“I don’t think there’s ever been a Court of Appeals where all of the judges were replaced on one day,” Chief Justice Scott Brister told The Texas Lawbook Friday during an interview about the change of plans.
