(January 22) – The Texas State Bar Litigation Section awarded Cantey Hanger Managing Partner Stephen Tatum with its 2015 Luther H. Soules III Award.
Tatum, a UT School of Law graduate, has handled more than 75 appeals in his career. He is a board member of Texas Health Resources and the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce and a former Chairman of the Board of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, Tarrant County Metropolitan YMCA and Tarrant County Samaritan House.
He has also served as a trustee of Georgetown, TX-based Southwestern University and Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth.
The Luke Soules Award is given to an attorney “who embodies excellence in the practice of law and exemplary service to the Bar through outstanding professionalism and community impact.”
Past winners of the award include Jim Coleman, Dicky Grigg, Judge Royal Fergeson, Kim Askew, George Bramblett, Jr. and Eduardo Rodriguez.
The State Bar is donating a $1,000 check in Tatum’s name to Samaritan House, a Fort Worth-based charity that provides housing to people living with HIV/AIDS.
