By Brooks Igo

(March 9) – Winstead recently announced that Houston shareholder Teresa Schneider will serve as chief recruiting officer, a newly-created position at the firm.

Schneider will lead talent acquisition efforts at all levels for Winstead’s seven offices nationwide.

“I know Winstead well and I can provide detailed information to candidates on the work environment and culture at Winstead,” Schneider said in a statement.

As a practicing litigation attorney, she has led various initiatives at the firm, including Winstead’s Women’s Alliance, Diversity Committee and Pro Bono Committee.

She most recently served as the firm’s director of professional development. In this capacity, she created Winstead University, the firm’s advanced education program for lawyers and clients.

Schneider said in the press release that the firm is looking at recruiting lawyers with corporate, environmental, finance and banking, and health care expertise and expanding the firm’s business in the Houston market.

The firm has hired eight laterals so far this year, according to the statement.
