Houston-based executive and legal search firm Pye Legal Group announced this month that Stacy Humphries has been promoted to president. She succeeds firm founder Susan Pye, who passed away last month.
Humphries, who has been with Pye for a decade, has served as managing director of the Houston and Austin offices since the end of 2017.
“Leading Pye Legal Group is my honor and privilege,” Humphries said in a statement. “Our business and our team are as strong as ever, and our commitment to excellence, integrity, service, innovation, and teamwork has yielded long-term, rewarding relationships with our clients and candidates.”
A Harvard Law School graduate, Humphries started her legal career at Alston & Bird before moving to Houston and joining Vinson & Elkins. After four years at V&E, she became the vice president of legal affairs for the Houston Rockets, where she managed the legal department and served as a member of a seven-person senior management team during the development and opening of Toyota Center, the development of a regional sports network and the development of a ticketing joint venture.
This past year, Humphries secured general counsel placements for a $2.5 billion publicly-traded oilfield services company and a privately-held national real estate development company.
In addition to her recruiting practice, Humphries serves on the board of Girls Inc. of Greater Houston. She is a former board member of the National Association of Legal Search Consultants (NALSC), which is a professional association dedicated to ethical legal recruiting practices.
