(May 3) – The Texas Lawbook is pleased to announce a dynamic and exciting new editorial partnership with the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel.
The Board of Directors of ACC-DFW chapter, which now has more than 900 corporate in-house lawyers as members, chose The Texas Lawbook as its media partner because of the Lawbook’s emphasis on unique and substantive content on business law in Texas.
“We recognize the important opportunity to work closely with a media organization that understands and supports the in-house community and tailors its content to legal news, trends and analysis that impact Texas business lawyers,” says ACC-DFW First Vice President David Kilpatrick, who is the general counsel and vice president of business development at EnvironX Solutions.
“Most importantly, as a media sponsor, The Texas Lawbook will allow the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter to widen our scope of exposure, communication and relevance to the Texas law community and specifically our ACC chapter,” Kilpatrick says. “The chapter has seen substantial growth over the past several years. The board continually searches for ways to provide tangible value to our members.
“Partnering with The Texas Lawbook accomplishes this goal, and just continues to add to the long list of membership benefits offered by the ACC,” he says.
Brooks Igo, deputy publisher of The Texas Lawbook, says that the Lawbook team is excited about the new partnership with ACC-DFW.
“The Lawbook plans to publish in-depth monthly profiles of Association of Corporate Counsel members in North Texas and regularly interview ACC-DFW leaders about significant legal trends and developments impacting businesses and the legal profession,” Igo says. “In addition, our business partner, The Dallas Business Journal, plans to publish many of these articles to the larger business community.”
Igo says that The Lawbook will feature articles authored by ACC-DFW members that examine substantive legal issues, relationships between in-house counsel and outside lawyers, as well as successes in promoting diversity, pro bono and commitment to the community.
“ACC members are leaders of both the legal profession and the business community,” says Igo, who points out that The Texas Lawbook now has more than 8,200 subscribers, including more than 1,800 corporate in-house lawyers. “They are thought leaders and we are extraordinarily honored that ACC-DFW has chosen The Texas Lawbook to be its media voice.”
The North Texas legal community can expect news of additional partnerships between the DFW Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel and The Texas Lawbook in the near future.
ACC is a global bar association that includes more than 35,000 members from over 10,000 corporations in 85 countries.
“For over 30 years, ACC has been providing corporate counsel with specialized, timely, and practical services exclusively targeted to the unique in-house position within the legal and business communities,” Kilpatrick says. “The Texas Lawbook fits in this larger framework to assist our chapter in promoting education, networking and advocacy initiatives.”
Kilpatrick says that involvement with the Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter is an opportunity for fellow corporate in-house lawyers “to expand your network of professionals facing the same problems you deal with on a day-to-day level— attorneys whose experience and insights can be of direct benefit to you.”
Lawyers with corporate legal departments who are interested in learning more about the DFW Chapter of ACC are invited to contact the organization’s executive director, Susan Harvey, at 214-901-6004. Also visit the ACC-DFW website for information and details about upcoming events.
