Akin added depth to its energy transactions practice this week by picking up Trent Bridges from Sidley.
Bridges is the third lateral corporate partner hire in Houston this quarter, joining Ian Goldberg and Andrew Lehman.
“Trent’s experience working on impactful and cutting-edge energy and infrastructure transactions will be a tremendous asset to our clients,” Akin chairperson Kim Koopersmith said in a press release. “Our premier energy practice is an important part of the firm’s strategy, and we are delighted to add top talent like Trent to our team.”
A former assistant general counsel for Magellan Midstream Partners, Bridges has significant midstream sector experience with the purchase, sale, investment and development of pipelines, terminals and related infrastructure. He also advises clients on infrastructure projects and investments related to sustainable fuels, carbon capture, net-zero goals, and hydrogen.
At Magellan, Bridges played a key role in the development of the BridgeTex Pipeline System that runs from the Permian to the Houston Gulf Coast area, the Saddlehorn Pipeline System that runs from the DJ Basin in Colorado to Cushing, Oklahoma, and Magellan’s Houston Distribution System of pipelines that provide “last mile” transportation of crude oil to Houston Gulf Coast area refiners and terminals.
