(Jan. 4) – Andrews Kurth recently announced its 2016 class of nine newly minted partners.
Brian Dillavou, Julia “Julie” Houston and Stephanie Kroger are based in Austin.
Dillavou, a University of Texas School of Law graduate, focuses his corporate transactional practice on capital financings, public and private offerings, M&A and corporate governance.
Houston is a member of the firm’s public finance and public law practices. Prior to entering private practice, she was an assistant attorney general in the Public Finance Division of the Office of the Attorney General of the State of Texas.
Kroger focuses her practice on electricity regulation and electricity and natural gas transactions. She has advised a number of public and private entities in the development of electricity purchasing strategies.
Isabel Crosby is the only new partner based in Dallas. The University of Texas School of Law graduate is a labor and employment expert who has handled matters relating to claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful discharge, breach of contract, misappropriation of trade secrets and other confidential information, and a variety of wage and hour disputes.
Courtney Glaser, Matthew “Matt” Grunert, Jordan Hirsch, Cindy Lin and Michelle Scheffler are based in the firm’s Houston headquarters.
Glaser is a litigator that has handled disputes for energy and managed care clients. Her focus is in the managed care industry, where has represented group insurers, plan administrators, third-party claim administrators and employers in lawsuits and arbitrations involving medical benefits, including ERISA and state law tort claims.
Grunert’s tax practice focuses on employee benefits. The SMU Dedman School of Law graduate works with clients in the design, implementation, maintenance and termination of defined contribution plans, defined benefits plan, health and welfare plans and executive compensation plans.
Hirsch is a corporate lawyer with specific expertise on MLPs and the oil and gas industry. The University of Houston Law Center graduate advises clients on U.S. capital markets transactions, including public and private offerings of debt and equity securities, and public and private M&A transactions.
Lin, a University of Texas School of Law graduate, focuses her corporate and securities practice on M&A, private placements, venture capital and private equity investments.
Scheffler is a commercial litigation who focuses on disputes in the oil and gas industry. The University of Houston Law Center graduate has also handled trial and appellate matters involving contract disputes, property rights and business torts.
