(Sept. 30) – Andrews Kurth announced today that Christopher Richardson, who has significant in-house experience with two energy companies, is returning to private practice as a partner in the firm’s Houston office.
Richardson was the general counsel of Mubadala Petroleum, a multi-billion dollar international oil and gas company owned by the Abu Dhabi government, prior to joining the firm. He has also been in-house with Occidental Petroleum in Houston and Qatar.
Before moving in-house with Occidental in 2012, he was a lawyer at Vinson & Elkins, where he helped the firm launch its Hong Kong office. He spent five years there.
Richardson will focus his practice on project development, mergers and acquisitions, LNG projects, negotiations with or on behalf of foreign governments and sovereign wealth funds, strategic joint ventures and investments, upstream and midstream contracts and corporate governance.
