Hilcorp Energy GOM Holdings, LLC has announced that it will sell some of its shallow water Gulf of Mexico shelf oil and natural gas interests to EPL Oil & Gas, Inc. The deal is worth $550 million.
The assets are currently producing about 10,000 barrels per day, about half of which are oil.
Andrews Kurth is representing Hilcorp. Leading the deal is Hal Haltom, whose practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, energy and corporate law. Also assisting in the deal are Houston partners Shahid Ghauri, Allison Mantor, and Tom Ford; Dallas partner Kay Lynn Brumbaugh and Houston associate Ashley Muehlberger.
Representing EPL are M&A partners Robert Thomas and Corey Brown in Porter Hedges’ Houston office.
Hilcorp is a privately held oil and gas exploration and production company that is based in Houston. EPL – also a privately held oil and gas exploration and production company – is based in New Orleans and Houston and focuses its operations in offshore Louisiana.
