By Brooks Igo – (September 23) – Gardere bolstered its international corporate practice with the addition of Arcie Jordan as a partner to the firm’s Austin office, the firm recently announced.
Jordan, who joins the 225-lawyer law firm from Jackson Walker, represents clients on international transactions and transportation, trade and immigration matters.
“Arcie’s international practice expertise is consistent with our strategic focus in Mexico and Latin America,” Holland O’Neil, Gardere’s chair of the board of directors, said in a statement.
Jordan, a University of Texas School of Law graduate, has held leadership roles in the International Partnership of Greater Austin and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. She is currently a member of the Camino Real District Export Council and the Pan American Roundtable.
“I recall Gardere attorneys blazing the trail for U.S. investors entering Mexico in the mid-1980s,” she said in a statement.
In July, Gardere announced it converted its Mexico City office, which started out as a joint venture between the firm and Arena y Asociados S.C., into a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gardere in another move to improve its international practice.
