Holland & Knight recently announced that it has recruited Austin healthcare partner Jennifer Rangel to help build its healthcare capabilities in Texas.
Rangel was previously a partner at Locke Lord, where she had practiced for close to 25 years. She has significant expertise aiding healthcare providers, healthcare companies, payors, health plans and managed care organizations with regulatory and compliance matters.
“I’m impressed by the substantial investments Holland & Knight is making in the future of its healthcare practice and the considerable talent they have amassed in key markets,” Rangel, a University of Houston Law Center graduate, said in a statement.
The addition of Rangel comes nearly a year after Holland & Knight announced its first Texas healthcare hires in Dallas litigator Eliot Burris and Houston attorneys Samuel Louis and Justo Mendez.
Rangel also has transactional experience. She was part of the Locke Lord deal team in 2019 that guided Dallas health platform Naturally Slim in its sale to global investment firm The Riverside Company.
In addition to her health law practice, Rangel is a committed legal advocate for cancer patients. She served on the American Bar Association’s Breast Cancer Task Force from 2008 to 2020, a tenure that included chairing the task force.
