As the magazine’s February issue celebrates its 40th anniversary, its first publisher marks nearly four-and-a-half years since he “re-potted” himself. Texas corporations announced 428 mergers, acquisitions, divestiture of assets, joint ventures and spinoffs last year – an 18 percent increase over 2011 and only five deals shy of the record set in 2007, according to mergermarket.
