Baker Botts recently announced that it has promoted 12 attorneys to partner firmwide, effective on January 1.
Eight of the newly-minted partners are based in one of the firm’s Texas offices. The other four are in San Francisco, London and Washington, D.C.
Jeff Becker focuses his practice on complex patent litigation, patent prosecution and patent portfolio development involving technologies relating to telecommunications, cellular, semiconductors, electronics, software and robotics. The Dallas attorney received his law degree from SMU.
Grant Everett concentrates his practice in Dallas on mergers and acquisitions, including negotiated acquisitions and divestitures as well as equity and debt securities offerings. He also handles joint ventures and cross-border transactions and represents management teams and private equity providers in upstream oil and gas projects.
Syed Fareed is based in Austin and practices patent litigation before Federal district courts, the Federal Circuit, the International Trade Commission and the Patent Trial and Appeals Board. He has represented clients in technologies including computer software, e-commerce, telecommunications, data processing, semiconductors, magnetic tape storage and medical and dental devices.
Courtney Fore is a corporate attorney in Austin, where she represents public issuers, private companies and venture and private equity funds in public and private securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, asset purchases, SEC compliance and disclosure and corporate governance.
Natalie Alfaro Gonzales focuses her intellectual property practice on patent litigation, patent prosecution and licensing. The University of Houston Law Center graduate is based in Houston and also handles copyright infringement and Lanham Act actions.
Bryan Henderson is a Dallas corporate lawyer who advises public and private companies and private equity funds in mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, funding arrangements, portfolio company formations and joint ventures. He has significant experience in the energy and technology industries.
Scott Looper, who received his law degree from the University of Houston, is in the firm’s global projects practice in Houston. He focuses his work on midstream, LNG and upstream energy industry project development activities, including divestitures, mergers and acquisitions, asset construction and asset operations.
Paulina Williams concentrates her litigation practice in Austin on environmental matters spanning water quality, water rights, waste, air and natural resources issues. She has provided guidance to clients on compliance-related issues under the Texas Environmental, Health and Safety Audit Privilege Act, and assisted with enforcement actions.
