(June 6) – Baker Botts announced this week that Houston partner Keri Brown is the recipient of the State Bar of Texas 2018 Pro Bono Coordinator Award. She was nominated for the award by the Houston Bar Association.
Brown chairs the firm’s Houston pro bono committee. She worked closely with Lone Star Legal Aid and the HBA in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, where she led efforts to coordinate and train volunteers to assist people affected by the flood. She also arranged for supplies to be distributed to shelters.
“Keri’s outstanding leadership in providing assistance to the thousands of people whose lives were upended by Hurricane Harvey make this award well deserved,” Baker Botts’ Houston Office Partner-in-Charge John Porter said in a statement.
Brown will be honored at the Bar Leaders Recognition Luncheon on June 21 at the State Bar Annual Meeting.
