(June 14) – Baker Botts announced today that the State Bar of Texas has chosen the firm as the recipient of this year’s W. Frank Newton Award recognizing pro bono contributions.
Lawyers from Baker Botts’ Texas offices dedicate approximately 17,000 hours per year of free legal services to the indigent and non-profit organizations, according to a press release. The firm has partnerships with Houston Volunteer Lawyers, the South Dallas Legal Clinic, Human Rights First, Catholic Charities, KIND, Tahirih, Texas C-Bar and Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas.
Baker Botts partners Hillary Holmes and Scott Powers will accept the award on behalf of the firm at the State Bar’s Annual Meeting on Thursday in Fort Worth.
