Baker Donelson announced Monday that Michael E. Clark, a former federal prosecutor in the Southern District of Texas, has joined the firm as of counsel in Houston.
Clark has been in private practice for the last 20-plus years, advising clients in matters involving complex civil and criminal fraud allegations, contract and business disputes, and white collar defense work.
Since leaving the U.S. Attorney’s Office in 1998, he has practiced at Gardere Wynne Sewell, Hamel Bowers & Clark and, most recently, Duane Morris.
After graduating from the University of Houston Law Center in 1982, Clark went to work at the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office. Nearly five years later, he joined the Department of Justice.
During his decade-long tenure at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of Texas, Clark served as chief of its Financial Fraud Division during the Savings and Loan Crisis and was later promoted to chief of the Criminal Division.
