By Brooks Igo
(July 10) – Barnes & Thornburg recently announced that corporate law pro Mandisa “Mandy” Price has become the third partner to join the firm’s Dallas office in 2017.
Price, who was previously an associate at Weil, has played a key role in advising on the General Electric Company’s sale of most of GE Capital’s assets and in representing sellers when both the Dallas Stars and Texas Rangers franchises went through their respective bankruptcy and auction proceedings.
The Harvard Law grad says Barnes & Thornburg is an “incredible firm” with a strong national presence.
“I look forward to helping build the firm’s Dallas presence and private equity platform,” said Price, who is the firm’s 15th attorney in Dallas.
Price focuses her practice on representing private equity firms and public companies involved in complex transactions, including M&A, divestitures and investments.
“Mandy is widely acknowledged as a rising star in Dallas and she has already completed transactions totaling billions of dollars,” Dallas Managing Partner Mark Bayer said in a statement. “She is well known in the private equity space nationally and will play a lead role as we expand that practice.”
Price also noted Barnes & Thornburg’s long-standing commitment to civic involvement and support of her several board activities as important to her decision to join the Indianapolis-based law firm.
She sits on the board of directors of the Texas Civil Rights Project, the UT McCombs School of Business BBA Advisory Board, TexProtects and Legal Aid of Northwest Texas. She is also on the board of trustees of the ChildCare Group.
