Bell Nunnally Adds Real Estate Partner Spencer Diebel

June 21, 2024 Brooks Igo

Bell Nunnally recently bolstered its real estate depth with the addition of Spencer Diebel as a partner from Munsch Hardt, where he was a senior attorney.

Diebel, a 2010 graduate of the SMU Dedman School of Law, said he has known and respected attorneys at Bell Nunnally for close to two decades and has always been impressed with them when working on the other side of a transaction.

“I believe in creating partnerships. A lease negotiation doesn’t have to be adversarial, you can adjust your view, and see that both parties can benefit,” he said.

“I made the move to Bell Nunnally because it was the first time in my career that I heard lawyers talk about creating something special, and I wanted to be a part of that.”

Deibel frequently handles 1031 exchange transactions and works closely with local government representatives to ensure the progress of real estate development projects.

He has recently closed a large development portfolio project for 20 single-tenant triple-net lease properties for a publicly traded REIT and helped a Dallas-based insurance company expand to 25 new locations throughout the state.

“I’m seeing people enter the market with a newfound level of excitement,” he said. “We are very fortunate to be in Texas, and I consider myself lucky to be a part of a great firm.”

Diebel has also practiced at KRCL and Williams Anderson Ryan & Carroll.
