Bell Nunnally Awards Midyear Associate Bonuses

July 16, 2024 Mark Curriden

Citing an extraordinary first six months of success, Bell Nunnally has awarded its two-dozen associates midyear bonuses ranging from $10,000 to $25,000.

“We are having a fantastic year with revenues up seven to nine percent year-over-year,” Chris Trowbridge, managing partner of the Dallas-based law firm, told The Texas Lawbook. “We did not want to wait until the end of the year to reward our associates for their great work.”

Trowbridge said the firm experienced an uptick in both corporate transactions and complex civil litigation.

With 62 lawyers in Dallas, Bell Nunnally reported $41.5 million in revenue in 2023, according to Texas Lawbook 50 data.

“We are in a highly competitive market for associates and these bonuses are showing our associates that they are valued and serve as a mechanism for retention,” he said.

Trowbridge said the bonuses are productivity based with hours prorated over a full year, including:

  • 2,300 hours or more received bonuses of $25,000;
  • 2,200 hours or more received $20,000;
  • 2,100 hours or more received $15,000; and
  • 2,000 hours or more received $10,000.

Trowbridge also said that Bell Nunnally has its first-ever summer associate class this year with two law students from the University of Texas and one law student from Southern Methodist University.
