(Nov. 19) – Dallas-based Bell Nunnally & Martin announced this month that it expanded its real estate practice by adding Irene Hosford and Kassandra McLaughlin as partners.
Hosford and McLaughlin join Bell Nunnally from Husch Blackwell. Hosford says the firm’s reputation and rising profile attracted them to the full-service firm.
“The firm is well-known across Texas and is gaining visibility nationally as well,” she says. “Its depth and breadth of practice areas are a great fit for our clients.”
Hosford has served as lead counsel to buyers and sellers in more than $1.5 billion worth of commercial transactions and has represented landlords and tenants in leasing more than 2.5 million square-feet of commercial space.
Last year, she led the real estate effort in separating the campuses and operations of two public higher education institutions in Texas.
McLaughlin has handled large leasing transactions for various commercial real estate projects including office, warehouse, retail, solar, wind and desalinization plants.
She has handled a number of significant solar leases in West Texas where she has led a team to resolve issues relating to Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) connectivity and oil and gas interests.
Hosford says she and McLaughlin are seeing increasingly difficult asset management issues in health care investment properties. McLaughlin adds that they are observing some over-exposure of clients in markets hurt by the decline in the energy industry.
