(Feb. 28) – Private equity transactions guru Bill Swart has joined Perkins Coie as a partner.
Swart was one of the founding shareholders of Kansas City-based Polsinelli’s Dallas office.
“I’m leaving a place I love and helped build the office,” he said. “It was one of the highlights of my career so far.”
The move to Perkins Coie, Swart believes, will give him the opportunity to do more of what he loves – mid-market private equity work. He says the majority of the deals he advises on is the marriage of technology with a business line or service line.
“What’s hot is tech-enabled fill-in-the-blank,” he said. “Tech is something Perkins Coie has in spades.”
Last year, Swart represented Tyler-based Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics in its combination with CHRISTUS Health. He says healthcare, an area he focused on at Polsinelli, is a sector that private equity clients are looking to bring extra value to.
Swart will be rejoining old Hughes & Luce colleagues Bobby Majumder and Ryan Preston.
