After serving as chair of the board of directors for Texas Methodist Foundation (TMF) during 2009 and 2010, Bob Dupuy has stepped into new roles as general counsel and director of charitable services. Dupuy, who is a senior partner at Brown McCarroll, will continue at the firm’s Dallas office in an advisory capacity.
Dupuy, who was invited to join the board by TMF President Tom Locke in 2003, transitions into being the general counsel with an awareness of the foundation’s operational matters through his prior involvement. Most recently, he aided in negotiations leading to TMF’s purchase of certain assets of the Central Texas Methodist Foundation during 2012.
The former chair of Brown McCarroll said most of his efforts, however, will be on the charitable services arm. He plans to be more intentional in reaching out to individuals about the intersection of their passion or faith and philanthropy.
“We want to increase our ability to provide charitable services and stimulate people who wouldn’t otherwise consider philanthropy,” he said.
At Brown McCarroll, Dupuy said he will be a “lawyer’s lawyer and a senior advisor to clients.”
The University of Texas School of Law graduate has been practicing law for 41 years—34 of those at Brown McCarroll. He focuses his practice on representing institutional investors, developers and lenders in a wide variety of transactional matters, primarily involving energy and real estate.
