(Jan. 3) – Bracewell recently announced that it has seven newly-promoted partners, including two in Texas.

Yvonne Ho and Amy Parker are both based in the firm’s Houston office.

Ho, who received her law degree from the University of Houston Law Center, focuses her practice on appeals and original proceedings in state and federal appellate courts.

She was part of the Bracewell team that obtained a reversal for a military contractor at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit of a previous $81 million judgment against the client. She also helped successfully defend a large operator of funeral homes in an appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit from an order denying certification of a nationwide class in an antitrust case.

Parker primarily represents U.S. and international energy clients in commercial litigation disputes. In a multiple-docket litigation before FERC that eventually resulted in a $750 million omnibus settlement, she played a significant role in representing the largest supplier of power to the State of California during the California Power Crisis.
