(Dec. 4) – Brian Loncar, a Dallas plaintiff’s lawyer known through his television advertisements as “The Strong Arm,” was found dead Sunday – only a week after his teen-aged daughter committed suicide.
Multiple news reports say that the medical examiner is conducting an autopsy, but the cause and manner of death have not yet been announced.
A graduate of Texas Tech School of Law, Loncar was 56. He started his law firm in 1988. He employed 20 lawyers in 11 offices across Texas and represented about 7,000 clients annually. The homepage to the law firm’s website was disabled Sunday afternoon.
Loncar’s 16-year-old daughter committed suicide Thanksgiving week after a five-year battle with depression. Her funeral was Friday.
An associate who works at Loncar & Associates, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told The Texas Lawbook Sunday that Loncar was “deeply impacted by his daughter’s decision to take her own life.”
More details as they become available.
