Camp Mystic Debtors File Governance Proposal Addressing Conflicts of Interest

October 29, 2026 Michelle Casady

Camp Mystic has filed an updated governance proposal that it said resolves conflict-of-interest concerns raised by U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Christopher Lopez, who is deciding whether to appoint independent fiduciaries or a Chapter 11 trustee to oversee the proceedings.

A hearing on the new proposal is set for Nov. 3. The new plan, filed late Wednesday, comes at the invitation of Judge Lopez, who last week gave the debtors a chance to remedy the conflicts of interest before deciding what governance structure to put in place for the bankruptcy case.
