MarketWatch says A. Lynne Puckett was a “principal” at the Central Intelligence Agency. Modern Counsel magazine once described her as a “CIA Operative.”
Irving-based Celanese Corporation has two new titles for Puckett: Senior Vice President and General Counsel.
Puckett, who served as the top legal officer at global manufacturer Colfax Corp., will start work Feb. 13 at Celanese, a global specialty materials company that has a market cap of $13 billion and 2017 net sales of $6.1 billion.
“Lynne’s extensive experience and her leadership approach make her a valuable addition to our Celanese team,” Celanese Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mark Rohr said in a written statement. “Her balance of strategic insights coupled with execution excellence will complement our legal team nicely. Her orientation toward volunteerism echoes our own corporate value of making a positive impact on our communities and reinforces our culture.”
Celanese clearly emphasizes giving back to the community. Senior Associate General Counsel Anne Brooksher-Yen is a finalist for the 2018 Outstanding Corporate Counsel’s Pro Bono and Public Service Award, which will be announced this Thursday.
While it is unknown exactly what Lynne did at the CIA, she is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law and was a partner at Hogan Lovells, where she handled M&A transactions.
During her eight years as GC at Colfax, Lynne guided the company through significant growth – from $700 million in revenues when she started in 2010 to more than $3.6 billion last year.
