Locke Lord, soon to become Troutman Pepper Locke, announced Monday its hiring of Clay Pulliam to its commercial real estate practice. Pulliam had been a member at Frost Brown Todd since September 2021.
“Clay is a fantastic addition to our national real estate and hospitality teams, and his broad network and comprehensive understanding of the U.S. real estate market will further amplify our value proposition across the Lone Star State,” said the firm’s Dallas managing partner Elizabeth Mack.
Pulliam’s experience includes work on a variety of transactions involving office, retail, multifamily, industrial, hospitality, hospital and mixed-use high-density urban developments. His practice focuses on acquisitions and dispositions, development, construction, financing, workouts, leasing and joint ventures.
A University of Texas Law School grad, Pulliam was associate general counsel at Hillwood Development where he helped oversee the development of the Perot company’s massive 75-acre Victory Park mixed-use project near downtown Dallas.
After six-and-a-half years at Hillwood, Pulliam entered private practice at Miller, Egan, Molter & Nelson (now known as Egan Nelson) where he spent 10 years as a partner before joining Fishman, Jackson, Ronquillo before moving on to Frost Brown Todd.
“Clay’s addition reflects the firm’s continued focus on strategically expanding our real estate team with top-tier talent,” said Robb Stewart, Dallas partner and co-chair of Locke Lord’s real estate and finance practice group.
“His experience, particularly in the development, construction and financing of commercial real estate projects, as well as his background serving as in-house counsel, further enhances our service offerings across the real estate sector and the firm’s presence within key markets.”
In September, Locke Lord announced its agreement to merge with Troutman Pepper. The merger becomes effective Jan. 1.
