Clifford Chance Adds CapM Partner in Houston

September 10, 2024 Jeff Schnick

Clifford Chance has added a new partner to its growing Houston office.

Om Pandya, one of the top young capital markets lawyers in Texas, has joined the firm after nearly nine years as an associate at Latham & Watkins, bringing the number of partners in Clifford Chance’s Houston office to 15.

Om Pandya

Pandya has widespread experience working with issuers, sponsors and financial institutions on SPACs and IPOs, debt products, deal finance and restructurings, while also having played a role in multiple significant M&A deals for private and public companies, including Chesapeake Energy’s pending $24 billion acquisition of Southwestern Energy, Property Solutions Acquisition Corp.’s $3.4 billion business combination with Faraday Future and others.

His specialization in the energy and infrastructure sectors “further strengthens the firm’s global capital markets offering in the U.S.,” the firm said in a news release.

“We’re delighted to welcome Om to the team. He brings valuable experience across the range of capital markets work for issuers and financial institutions, and for public and private companies on SEC rules and governance issues,” Clifford Chance’s co-chair of Americas Global Financial Markets Lee Askenazi said in the release. “He also adds capability in the active U.S. market, and his deep understanding of IPOs and other registered offerings is a great addition to our global capital markets platform.”

Regional Managing Partner for the Americas Sharis Pozen added, “Om’s comprehensive experience covering a range of capital markets transactions builds on our high-quality team in Houston.”

The Houston office is led by managing partner Devika Kornbacher, who also serves as Clifford Chance’s co-chair of its Global Tech Group. Since joining Clifford Chance in 2022, Kornbacher’s roster in Houston has been bolstered with the additions of Jonathan Bobinger, Jonathan Castelan, David Sweeney, Trevor Lavelle, Todd Lowther, Ty’Meka M. Reeves-Sobers, Enoch Varner, Alex Wilde and others.

“I’m thrilled to be part of the firm’s growth story in the U.S. and to be joining such an energetic team. I also look forward to integrating with the firm’s well established global capital markets practice on both U.S. and multinational matters,” said Pandya in the release.

A 2012 graduate of New York University, Pandya received his law degree from Duke University in 2015.
