Clifford Chance Taps Alexandra Wilde to Lead Houston Office

March 11, 2026 Jason Philyaw

Clifford Chance named Alexandra Wilde the Office Managing Partner in Houston, as the Magic Circle law firm continues investing in the nation’s fourth-largest city.

“Alex is the right leader for our Houston office at an important moment in Clifford Chance’s growth in the U.S.,” according to Sharis Pozen, the London-based global law firm’s regional managing partner for the Americas. “Houston is a critical market for our clients and for the firm, particularly across energy, infrastructure, private capital and complex cross-border matters. Alex brings outstanding judgment, strong client relationships and a deep understanding of the sectors driving demand in this dynamic market, and I am confident she will help lead the next phase of our growth across the U.S. region.”

Wilde joined the firm after more than a decade at Jones Day in Dallas, as one of the first partners in the Houston office in 2023. She holds a bachelor’s in radio, television, film from the University of Texas at Austin, and received her J.D. from the University of Michigan. Wilde succeeds Devika Kornbacher, who led the Houston office from its opening until February, when she joined Austin-based Huggins Reddien as a named partner.

“I am honored to take on this role at such an exciting time for our Houston office,” Wilde said. “Since opening in 2023, we have built a strong platform in a market that is central to our clients and to many of the firm’s global priorities. I look forward to working with our outstanding team in Houston and across the firm to continue building our presence and supporting clients across this important business hub.”

Clifford Chance said Wilde has deep experience in the energy, infrastructure and industrial sectors, including solar, wind, battery storage, biofuels, clean tech and other clean and renewable energy, traditional upstream/midstream/downstream oil and gas, transportation and logistics, manufacturing, defense, aerospace and specialty chemicals.

Clifford Chance opened the Houston office to expand its global energy and infrastructure practice. The office now has more than 40 attorneys with more growth expected. The office also advises clients on environmental transactions, regulatory, tax, M&A, private capital, technology and Latin American matters.

Some of the notable Texas corporate lawyers the firm has added in Houston include Jonathan Bobinger, Jonathan Castelan, David Sweeney, Trevor Lavelle, Enoch Varner and Todd Lowther.
