Two real estate billionaires – Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and Crescent owner Jason Goff – turned to lawyers and law firms they know well to help them with the recent acquisition of e-sports team Complexity Gaming.
Cowboys General Counsel Jason Cohen and assistant general counsel Kaleisha Stuart lead a team for Jones and Golf that included Winstead corporate shareholder Charlie Florsheim and Jared Bartie, who chairs the sports law practice group at New York-based O’Melveny & Myers.
Complexity was represented by Jeff Horowitz, a shareholder at Crain Caton & James of Houston and Jenny DePonte, a partner at the McCathern law firm in Frisco.
Winstead has a long history of advising Jones and the Cowboys, as well as other professional sports franchises. O’Melveny has worked on several significant e-sports transactions during the past year.
