Dallas Hispanic Law Foundation Names Recipients of 2017 Scholarships and Grants

(May 25) – The Dallas Hispanic Law Foundation announced the law students that are the 2017 recipients of its 2017 scholarships and grants at the fifth annual Amanecer Luncheon yesterday at the Belo Mansion.

Stephanie Zapata Moore, executive vice president and general counsel of Vistra Energy, and David Hernandez, senior vice president and general counsel of Hunt Consolidated, served as honorary co-chairs of the luncheon.

The scholarship and grant recipients are:

1L: Natalie Harrison, University of Washington School of Law

2Ls: Brenda Balli, SMU Dedman School of Law; Alexandra Grafton, University of Houston Law Center; Heather Penning, South Texas College of Law; Pedro Conejo Zaval, SMU Dedman School of Law

3Ls: Maria Alonso, SMU Dedman School of Law; Felipe Flores, UNT Dallas College of Law; Ruth Rivera-Arriaga, University of Houston Law Center; Claudia Segura, UNT Dallas College of Law

Grants: Cielo Fortin-Camacho, Texas A&M University School of Law; Adam Greenup, UNT Dallas College of Law; Sonia Monroy, UNT Dallas College of Law; Karla Perez, The University of Texas at Austin School of Law

“Providing the financial means to complete law school and the real world experience necessary to secure a great job in the legal industry underscores our commitment to the advancement of Hispanics in the legal profession,” Adrienne Dominguez, a partner at Thompson & Knight who serves as the president of the Dallas Hispanic Law Foundation, said in a statement.
